Take a Look, It's in a Book...

My new NY public library card

Now that I've finally received my NY state driver's license, I was able to get a library card yay! Hoping that it serves as inspiration and motivation towards my going full on veggie once again, I am currently re-reading:

JSF writes without condescension or pretentiousness, and without the agenda to guilt readers into veganism. His position is not against eating meat, which he doesn't believe to be inherently wrong, philosophically speaking, but against the unsustainable (and cruel) factory farming system that dominates animal agriculture, which he ethically opposes. JSF offers deeply moving personal anecdotes along side in-depth research that makes for a compelling read.

In the book, JSF describes Chipotle, which I unabashedly love, as the only national restaurant chain that is committed to using naturally-raised and sustainable meat, and locally grown produce. Since Chipotle is like a second home to me, I tend to feel less guilty when I consume the deliciously tender and perfectly marinated Carnitas, knowing that it did not derive from factory-farmed pigs. I love the awesome Chipotle commercial that aired during the Grammy's, in which Willie Nelson sings Coldplay's The Scientist better than Colplay:

"Walk across the courtyard, towards the library/ I can hear the insects buzz and the leaves 'neath my feet/ Ramble up the stairwell, into the hall of books/ Since we got the interweb these hardly get used" --My Morning Jacket, Librarian
